Kelly McGee



Kelly McGee a lifelong resident of Sebring. Employed at Morris Funeral Chapel since 1981. Born in Savannah, GA moving to Sebring after his father, Ralph H. McGee died suddenly while Kelly was an infant. Kelly and his mother, Doris McGee along with her daughter Valerie and sons Miles and Maurice moved back to Sebring in 1963. Kelly's mother remarried when Kelly was 9 to Otis Everett. Kelly claims his family is a Railroad version of “a military family”. Ralph worked for the Seaboard Coastline Railroad after serving in WWII and the children were born in different cities. Kelly attended Woodlawn Elementary and Sebring Middle Schools. During the high school years, he attended Park Christian School in Avon Park and graduated from Landmark Baptist High School, in Haines City, FL. A member First Baptist Church where he has served as an usher for 30 years, member of the Homebuilders Sunday School Class and the ROC Committee. Kelly works as a funeral assistant. He is on call 24 hours, works in the office and work services. Since being employed at Morris Funeral Chapel, he has been involved in several community organizations. He is Past President of the Sebring Jaycees, Past President of Sebring Breakfast Kiwanis, served 8 years on the City of Sebring Code Enforcement Board, Served as a member of the Highlands County Fair Association and Sebring Firemen, Inc where he was honored with the Most Valuable Man Award in 2008. Kelly married Jennifer Shoffner in 2008 and have two daughters, Mara and Abigail.
