Craig Thomas Sargent
-Faithful Believer in God, Loving Husband, Dad,
Son, Precious Big Brother, Fun Uncle, American
Patriot and Proud Ohio State Buckeyes fan-
Craig Thomas Sargent, age 63, entered into the presence of God on
Saturday August 8, 2026 in Sebring, Florida.
Craig was born on January 15, 1963 in Ashland, Ohio to Shirley Sargent
and the late Thomas Sargent. He graduated from Cooper City High
School in Florida in 1981 and proudly served his country in the United
States Navy from 1981 to 1987 with much of his service aboard an
aircraft carrier.
Following his military service, Craig dedicated 30 years to the Town of
Davie, Florida, where he worked as an Operations Supervisor before
retiring.
Craig loved many things—God, family, serving his country, golf, the
gym, singing and dancing, telling stories, laughing and making people
smile. To know Craig was to love him. He lit up the room with his warm
smile and contagious laugh. He was kind, strong, gentle and always
willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
He was a proud American and a devoted Ohio State Buckeyes fan and
loved to proudly shout, “O-H!” Or respond “I-O!”. Rarely did a day
pass when Craig wasn't seen in a Navy shirt and hat, proudly showing
off his American spirit or wearing his scarlet & gray to display his Ohio
State pride. Craig loved deeply and will be deeply missed by his family,
loved ones and friends.
Craig is survived by his loving wife, Nadine Sargent of Florida; mother,
Shirley Sargent of Florida; stepdaughter, Amber of Florida; son,
Brandon; stepson, Frank; sisters, Jennifer (Tom) Chapman of Ohio and
Laurie (Jack) DiPrima of Florida; half-brothers, Tom & Nick; and all his
nieces and nephews who adored him. He is also survived by extended
family and countless friends and loved ones who were blessed to know
him.
In addition to his father, Thomas Sargent, Craig was preceded in death
by his first wife, Marie Sargent.
A memorial service celebrating Craig’s life will be held at Morris Funeral
Chapel in Sebring, Florida, on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. It
will be a special blessing to the family and all who attend to have
Craig’s nephew, Keith Chapman, serve as Pastor for the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Craig’s
memory to Change of Pace Adult Care Center, Sebring, Florida.
