Donnabelle Harriman

Donnabelle Harriman, 96, a resident of The Manor, Maranatha Village, Sebring, FL, was welcomed into the presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, June 17, 2023. She has lived in Maranatha Village since 1991 and is a member of the Maranatha Baptist Church, Sebring, FL. 

Mrs. Harriman was born September 6, 1926 in Spencer, Ohio to Oren and Letha (Naylor) Thompson, the seventh of nine children. 

Donnabelle graduated from the Spencer Public Schools (1944); Baptist Bible Seminary, Johnson City, NY (1947); Gordon College-Fenway, Boston, MA (1949); and in 1961 completed her Masters in Education at the State University of New York at Binghamton. 

She married Earle C. Harriman in 1950, and raised three children: Stephen, Sarah (Smith), and Joel. 

Donnabelle trusted the Lord for her salvation as a young girl. Her main desire from childhood was to serve the Lord and she was blessed to spend her life doing so. Her life was ordered by the Lord. She taught grade school for thirty-one years in Christian schools in Vestal, NY; Washington, DC; Indianapolis, IN; and Horseheads, NY, retiring in 1991. 

She is survived by her sister, Naomi (Albert) Marcum; her son-in-law, Barry Smith of Cedarville, OH; and her son, Joel (Janet) Harriman of Rochester, NY; along with six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren plus many nieces and nephews several of whom are serving the Lord throughout the world. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; seven of her brothers and sisters (Grover, Blake, Carl, Icieola Mitchell, Dallas, Wilbur, and Mary Lou Wagoner); her loving husband of 67 years, Earle C. Harriman; her son, Stephen M. Harriman (with his wife, Hope and two grandchildren, Nathan and Stephanie); and her daughter, Sarah H. Smith (and grandson, Wade). 

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 20th from 10-11:00 AM with the funeral service at 11:00 AM at Marantha Baptist Church, Sebring.  Entombment with a committal service will be at 2:30 PM at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Avon Park.
