Emily Josephine Lastinger Sottile, 94, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 23, 2026 in Sebring surrounded by family.
She was born in Sebring March 29, 1932 to Pete and Alta Lastinger. She graduated from Sebring High School in 1950. Married Larry Bauer and moved to New York where daughters Nancy and Susanne were born. Later moved to California where daughter Jean was born. She moved back to Sebring in 1965. She worked at Consolidated/Lake Placid Groves as a bookkeeper for 31 years. She attended First Baptist Church of Sebring where she sang in the choir and taught children’s classes and later attended First Baptist Church of Lake Placid. She loved to embroider, do word searches, play dominoes, go to lunch and spend time with her family.
She is survived by her brother James Lastinger (Peggy), daughters Nancy Bauer (Bill Surey), Susanne Foster (Larry), Jean Sottile, her 8 grandchildren April Caisse, David Caisse (Michelle), Leslie Brooker (Bo), Lisa Parton (Prentice), Emily Sottile, Phil Sottile (Nicole), Ryan Sottile (Stephanie) and Eric Sottile. She has 21 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents Pete and Alta Lastinger and her husband Philip Sottile.
A visitation will be held at Morris Funeral Chapel on August 27, 2026 at 10:30 with service to follow. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Champion for Children.
