STUBBS, JR., GEORGE J., 71 of Sebring, FL, died September 21, 2013. George was born in Anderson, IN. He served in the U. S. Air Force during the Viet Nam era returning to Anderson where he was employed by General Motors for 18 years. In 1973 he married Joy and they moved to Sebring in 1976. George worked in maintenance at several facilities, mainly medical in the Sebring area. He was an active member of First Baptist Church, serving as a kitchen angel and worked with vacation bible school. George was a member of the National Street Rod Association and a life member of Central Florida Street Rod Association. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Zane Aaron Stubbs and is survived by his wife, Joy; son, Jon Stubbs, Okeechobee, FL; sister, Jeanette Parks, Anderson, IN; grandchildren, C.J., Bruce and Desiree Stubbs. Military Honors, McDill Air Force will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, October 3 at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, FL. The family suggests memorials to the Childrens Ministry at First Baptist Church or Good Shepherd Hospice.
