Gerald "Bud" Dean Trimble (formerly of Tolono, Illinois), a beloved husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather, and loyal friend, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026, at the age of 94, in Sebring, Florida. Born on April 6, 1932, in Gibson City, Illinois, Gerald was a beacon of love and generosity to everyone who knew him.
He was the cherished son of Wayne and Edith Trimble and shared his formative years with his siblings in the close-knit community of Bellflower. Gerald graduated from Bellflower High School, where he laid the foundations for a life characterized by hard work and dedication.
In service to his country, Gerald proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean conflict, where he displayed courage and commitment, traits that would define his life thereafter. Following his honorable service, Gerald embarked on a career that spanned decades with the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 149, dedicating his professional life to Nogle and Black Mechanical until his retirement in 1995.
In 1958, Gerald married the love of his life, Gayle Harlene Kirby, on a beautiful September day. Their union, which lasted over 67 years, was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Together, they nurtured a family filled with warmth and laughter. Gerald is survived by his devoted wife, Gayle; his loving children, Jay (Vicki) Trimble and Lisa (Roger) Arguello; his sister, Mary Winterland, and brother, Don (Linda) Trimble. He was the proud grandfather of eight wonderful grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to his life.
Gerald was predeceased by his parents, his sister Norma Blake, his brothers John, Delmar, and Elwood "Pete," his son David, and his grandson Colby. Their memories remained close to his heart throughout his life.
An active member of his community, Gerald was a respected member of the Masonic Lodge. His hobbies included camping and traveling, with a particular fondness for snowbirding to Florida. It was there that he found solace in reading and watching the breathtaking Florida sunsets, moments that brought him peace and contentment.
Gerald’s life will be celebrated privately among his closest family and friends, honoring his wishes for an intimate farewell. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Gerald's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting his spirit of giving and community.
Gerald Trimble leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and resilience. He will be dearly missed, yet his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
