VERNOTZY, GLENN CHARLES, 90, died Nov. 27, 2012 at Good Shepherd Hospice, Sebring, FL. He was born on June 30, 1922 in Akron, OH, son of the late John and Emma E. (Widdersheim) Vernotzy. A graduate of South High School, Class of 1941, Akron. He served with the US Coast Guard during W.W. II and later worked for Cordwin Heating, Cuyahoga Falls, OH for many years. On January 14, 1947 he married Mildred Rowe. Glenn retired as manager of Manners Big Boy restaurant where he worked in the early 60's. A life member and Past Commander of Charles Faust Post #281, American Legion; 64 year member of Cuyahoga Falls Masonic Lodge #0735; Cuyahoga Falls Garden Club and Historical Society all of Cuyahoga Falls, OH. He moved to Highlands Ridge in 1995 and was known by all as Uncle Glenn. Glenn was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred; brothers, Russell and Howard and a sister, Delores Cordwin. He is survived by his lovng family, daughter and her husband, Wendy and Mark Wilkinson; son and his wife, Larry and Debra Vernotzy, Fresno, CA; daughter, Debby Vernotzy, Akron, OH; five granddaughters and nine grandchildren; favorite niece and her husband, Nancy and Rev. Don Davis, Avon Park, FL. A memorial service will be held Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, 3:00 pm at Founders Hall, Highlands Ridge.
