John H Meder, Jr.

John H. Meder, Jr, 90 of Sebring passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2026. He was born April 1, 1936 in Montrose, Michigan moving to Florida in 1967. He served 4 years in the United States Air Force, He then began his career in radio in Michigan, moved to Sebring in 1986 from West Palm Beach and started his career at WWOJ FM. He was a member and Past President of Sebring Rotary Club, a founding member of the Children's Museum and had served on the Sebring Special Events Committee with the Sebring Chamber of Commerce. He was of the Catholic faith. John was preceded in death by a daughter, Marie, a brother Raymond and a sister Veronica. He is survived by his children, Margaret of Sebring and Mark of St. Cloud, Florida; brothers, James, Ralph (Irene) and Tom (Angie) all of Chesaning, Michigan; sisters. Mary Ann Yaklin, Chesaning, Michigan, Janice Knapp, St. Louis, Michigan, 2 grandsons, Terry and Dale Hanbury, great grandchildren, Dillon, Khole, Alanah and Dale “DJ”; former wife, Sharon Zwick, daughter in law, Pauline Meder and John's dogs. A Celebration of Life with Military Honors will be held Thursday, August 13, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, Florida. A local Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
