Joseph W Earp

Earp, Joseph Wesley, 84, went to be with Jesus on Thursday December 14, 2023,  He was at his home in Lake Placid surrounded by his loving family.  Born in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of Joseph Edgar Earp and Mabel Irene Parish.  He moved to Sebring, Florida at the age of 5 years old.  

Joe was a Veteran serving in the US Army.  He worked in the Construction Industry for Papa and Gene Whitaker at Whitaker Construction.  He later worked for Highlands County Road and Bridge where he retired in 2006. He attended Placid Temple Church of God in Lake Placid.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Frank Earp, Edward Earp, Mae Hanna, Lillian Olson and Cora Stone, his son-in-law Rick Ritenour and his great  granddaughter Everleigh Guffey.

He survived by his loving wife of 65 years Rosie , his daughters Lisa Ritenour and Susan (Timothy) Price, five grandchildren Bobby (Kristy) Williams, Brittany (Mike) Niskala,  Mathew (Sarah) Steinmetz , Joshua (Amy) Williams and Lacey Williams, six great grandchildren Jordan, Brianna, Madison, Taylor, Jaxson, and Kinsley, and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on January 13, 2024 11:00AM at Placid Temple Church of God.
