BAKER, LAURA S., 88, of Sebring, FL went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 10, 2013, after a brief battle with cancer. She was born in Dayton, Ohio on October 11, 1924 to Samuel and Minnie Littler. Married to John Six in Maryland in 1957. He was killed in a farm accident in 1971 leaving her with three teenage children. She married Chester Baker in 1975 and they moved to Sebring in 1987. A secretary by vocation, she served for 18 years as Secretary for the Sebring Church of the Brethren and the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, Sebring. She was an avid reader, vocalist for many weddings, and volunteered at The Palms Gift Shop. Laura was preceded in death by both of her husbands, her parents, 12 siblings, and a daughter, Sue Ellen Six. She is survived by a son John David Six, Eatontown, NJ and daughter Amy Lue Six-Means, Salisbury, NC, and one stepson Paul Baker, Eustis, FL, and one grandson. A memorial service will be held at The Palms on Saturday January 19, 2013 at 10:00 AM with Rev. David Smalley and Chaplain Cecil Hess officiating. Burial will be in Maryland. Memorials may be made to the Sebring Church of the Brethren, or Cornerstone Hospice.
