LAYNE, Lois Virginia, 87, of Lake Placid, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 18, 2016. Lois was born in Chicago, Illinois - the daughter of the late Samuel Joseph and Nellie Margaret (Brown) Linderoth. She married Dr. James N. Layne on August 26, 1950, moving to Lake Placid, Florida in 1967. Lois was the Founder of The Blueberry Patch Gift Shop and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family, growing orchids and her many pets. Lois is survived by her husband of over 65 years James Layne, daughters Linda (Allen) Farnsworth, Kimberly (Bert) Crawford, Jamie (Bruce) Stayer, Susan (Ray) Royce, and Rachel (Stuart) Troutman; grandchildren James Farnsworth, Glenn Crawford, Sierra, Shane, and Sammy Stayer, Colby and Scout Royce, Samuel, Maxen and Seth Troutman; great grandchildren Hayden and Lucas Farnsworth. A private family celebration of life will be held on Sanibel Island, Florida at a later date. Memorials are requested to the Highlands County Humane Society, PO Box 833, Sebring, FL 33871.
