Sebring

Malta Lindsey Locke, born in Bowling Green, Kentucky, September 4, 1939, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025 peacefully in her sleep.

Malta is survived by her three children, Lindsey (Richard) Combs, Maggie (Rotesak) Nampon, and John (Debbie) Locke, her three grandsons, Malcolm Locke, Spenser Nampon, and Carson Nampon.

Malta, a loving wife and mother, was a career educator and child advocate who believed all children deserve a quality education. She worked as a business and English teacher at Sebring High School and Sebring Middle School over the course of her 30+ year teaching career. Her former students continue to share her positive impact on them and frequently report she was their favorite teacher. Malta enjoyed cooking, needlework, scrap booking, fishing, and was an avid reader. Her care for others and selflessness will be remembered by those who had the benefit of knowing her.
