Marilyn Broers Dudley

On June 25, 2026 Marilyn Dudley our dear mother, grandmother and great grandmother entered into the gates of heaven to be with her dear Lord and Savior.  Her son and daughter were by her side praying for God to gently usher her home as passed into glory.

A woman of unwavering faith and quiet strength, Marilyn lived a life marked by grace, devotion, and deep spiritual conviction.  She was a steadfast follower of Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior. Her trust in the promise of eternal life in heaven was a guiding light, even when she lost her eyesight at 86 years old. Marilyn was a spiritual inspiration not only to her family, but to all she encountered.

Marilyn Julia Broers was born on August 21, 1927, to Jacob H. Broers and Sadie Vogdt Broers inSodus, New York.  Marilyn grew up as an only child on a small farm.  She attended college for two years before accepting a job at Eastman Kodak in Rochester where she modeled in the photography department. It was there she met her husband and life partner in Christ, David Dovesmith Dudley, an optics engineer/physicist.  Together they built a family rooted in love, faith and happiness; initially in Annandale, Virginia; then in Huntsville, Alabama.  Marilyn enjoyed raising their two children, Dan and Diane.  She also loved to paint, swim, garden and photograph scenery.  She enjoyed sharing her talent in art by creating a mural of Jesus and the children of the world for a church missions organization. Marilyn loved nature, and it was often the subject of her painting and photography. After losing her sight, God blessed Marilyn with many poems about His love, care, and salvation. She hoped these poems would draw others to a close relationship with Jesus Christ. She also enjoyed attending Bible studies and memorizing scripture.

She is survived by her son, Dan Dudley and his wife, Melinda, her daughter, Diane Noel and her husband, David along with her grandchildren, Katherine Leuthen and her spouse, Greg, Kristina Vattilana and her spouse, Bradley, Benjamin Noel, and his spouse, Marianna, Jeremy Noel, and his spouse, Sarah, and Michael Dudley and his spouse, Melissa. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Jonah, Leo, Toby, Charles, Elizabeth, Elias, Eva, and Riley and another great grandson expected later this year. Marilyn will be greatly missed by her family. There will be a celebration of life for her at Morris Funeral Chapel, Sebring, Florida, on Wednesday, July 1st at 1 PM and private family burial at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.

Marilyn was a passionate supporter of Samaritan's Purse; please consider a donation in her honor in lieu of flowers.
