Mary Ellen Jones

JONES, MARY ELLEN, 89 of Sebring, FL, died June 15, 2017. She was born July 11, 1928 in Sebring, FL. daughter of the late, C. Brandon and Etta M Jones. A graduate of Sebring High School, Florida State University with a BS of Education along with receiving her Masters in Library Science in 1968. A member of First United Methodist church; Sebring Historical Society and a past member of Friends of the Library. Teaching career began in Sebring and then it took her to multiple states including, Kentucky, Illinois, and Colorado. She retired from Broward County Schools in June of 1993 when she returned home to Sebring. After retirement she spent time volunteering in the Sebring Public Library. Mary Ellen moved into The Palms of Sebring in 2007 where she remained until her death. She will be remembered for her love of music and books. She had a witty sense of humor and enjoyed time spent with family. She will be buried along side her parents in Pinecrest Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Charles Brandon Jones. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Peggy Jones, nephews, Dale Jones, Steve Jones, Barry (Janine) Jones; niece, Joyce Jones (Phillip) Statler; great nephews, Casey (Megan) Jones, Drew (Joanna) Jones, Michael (Cassandra) Jones, Ryan Jones and Colton Statler; Mark (Renee) Lawrence and Wesley Jones; great nieces, Krystal (Robert) Nelson, Maggie (Ryan) Chandler and Kayla Jones.
