On Sunday August 22, 2021 Matthew passed away at the age of 59 in a single vehicle accident.

Matt was born May 16, 1962 in Toledo, Ohio. After graduating from Waite High School, Matt joined

the US Navy and received his training as hospital corpsman. After leaving the Navy he pursued a

career in the Department of Corrections as a med tech and a correctional officer.  Matt then

joined the Highlands County Sheriff Office. He retired in 2015.

Matthew is preceded in death by his parents Richard and Dot Lammie.  He is survived by his wife of

25 years Kay. 4 children Harley, Brittanie, Lauren and Marcie, 5 grandchildren. 3 Brothers: Mike, Dan

and Tim Lammie, Sister Judy Scott.

There will be a Celebration of Life, September 25, 2021 at 3:00 PM at the Avon Park VFW.

75 N. Olivia Drive. There will be an opportunity for friends, and guest to share their favorite memories

of Matt's life.
