The Life of Philip Allen Wickstrom
Philip Allen Wickstrom (Phil), 69, of Sebring, Florida, passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord on Sunday, November 23, 2025.
He was born in Nigeria, West Africa, to loving parents Loyd and Marjorie Wickstrom, missionaries with Sudan Interior Mission. Phil’s family enjoyed many happy furloughs in Richmond, Indiana, where he quickly excelled in History and English. He later pursued Human Resources Management and earned his BA degree from Warner University. After retiring from manufacturing and government service, Phil found joy in working with his hands, crafting purses, wallets, and tablet cases from unique leathers.
As an ordained minister, Phil’s father, Loyd, had the privilege of officiating the weddings of all three of his sons. Phil and Lauren were married at the SIM Chapel in Sebring, Florida, and together they shared nearly 44 years of love, laughter, and partnership. Phil was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He touched the lives of many as a cherished member of Whispering Pines Baptist Church.
He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, quick wit, and love of reading. Before tablets, there was always a partially read book near his favorite chair. He enjoyed watching college football and Formula One, whether in person or from the comfort of his favorite recliner. However, his favorite moments were spent making his granddaughter Madison (his “Little Bit”),smile by singing her favorite songs.
Phil is survived by his two sons, Chris (Jennifer) and David (Brittany); his two older brothers, John (Linda) and their children Ryan (Meredith) and Ashley (Tait); and his brother Dr. David Wickstrom (Sharon) and their children Lori Moss (William) and Matthew (Amy). Phil was richly blessed with a large, loving extended family of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
