Susan Carol McIntyre

Susan Carol McIntyre, age 61, went home to be with Jesus on October 4, 2026, at Good Shepherd Hospice House in Sebring, Florida.

Susan was born in Sebring, Florida, to the late Ray and Vivian (Merritt) McIntyre. She was a resident of Florida Mentor, formerly known as The Avon Park Clusters, since its opening in 1984.

Though Susan faced unique challenges from birth, she lived her life with a quiet strength that touched and inspired everyone who knew her. She taught those around her that communication reaches far beyond words and that love asks for nothing in return. Susan had a special love for her brothers, who always knew how to make her laugh.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Florida Mentor for the dedication, kindness, and compassionate care they provided Susan throughout the years. You have been our heroes, and we will always be grateful.

Susan was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Ray and Vivian McIntyre.

She is survived by her brothers, Raymond (Becky) McIntyre and Russell (Ginger) McIntyre, both of Sebring; nieces Erin Hinds (Jacob) of Sebring and Heather Lunn (Adam) of Lakeland; nephews Brad McIntyre (Eden) of Fort Myers and Garrett McIntyre (Melissa) of Fort Myers; four great-nieces and five great-nephews; and many loving cousins.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a celebration of Susan’s life on October 11 at 2:00 p.m. at Morris Funeral Chapel in Sebring.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Susan’s honor may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice.

Susan’s life reminds us that love can be expressed without words, joy can be found in the simplest moments, and a gentle spirit can leave an everlasting imprint on the hearts of those who are blessed to know her.
