HELEN MARIE McDONALD, 100 of Sebring died October 14, 2019.  She was born November 14, 1918 in Muscatine, Iowa to Conrad and Elizabeth Stelzner.  She faithfully attended Sunday School and was active in the local church during her teen years. She graduated from Muscatine High School in 1936 and Moody Bible Institute in Chicago 1943.  She met Cleveland McDonald, a student in the Pastor's Course and they married in August 1945.  They sailed to N. Brazil under the A.B.W.E. Mission Board where Helen taught in Children's Bible Clubs and other mission work while her husband taught in the Brazil Bible Institute in the city of Natal.  After serious medical problems, they returned to the United States.  Helen served as secretary to her husband's work for over 40 years as he ministered in pastorates an at Cedarville College in Cedarville, Ohio.  She typed many exams, books, a thesis and dissertation as well as his text book, “Creating a Successful Marriage and Family”.  She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Cleveland McDonald and a daughter Rebecca Whitttier.  She is survived by her son, Dr. Philip (Rebecca) McDonald Ph.D of Grand Rapids, Michigan; Sister Betty Stelzner of Sebring, Florida, 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Maranatha Baptist Church.  Memorial Contributions may be made to Closed Door and Women at Risk International Ministries at www.warinternational.org or by mail to 2790 44th Street SW, Wyoming, MI 49519.  Arrangements by Morris Funeral Chapel, Sebring.
